Job Title: English Teacher [Maternity Cover]

Job Overview:
We are seeking a qualified English Teacher to join a well-regarded school in Al Ain, UAE for a maternity cover position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching English Language and Literature to students in Grade 6 to Grade 9, ensuring a high standard of education in line with the school’s curriculum. This is a temporary role with the possibility of extension based on the school’s requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) is preferred.
- ADEK Appointment letter is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience teaching English at the middle school level (Grades 6-9).
- Previous experience in maternity cover or short-term contracts is desirable.
- Experience teaching in the UAE or GCC region is a plus but not mandatory.

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of the English curriculum for Grades 6 to 9.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and deliver lessons effectively.

- Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to maintain a productive and respectful learning environment.
- Strong knowledge of the English curriculum for Grades 6 to 9.
Key Responsibilities:
Lesson Planning and Delivery:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive English lessons for students in Grade 6 to Grade 9.
- Teach both English Language (grammar, writing, comprehension) and English Literature (analysis of texts, poetry, and novels).
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources, including group discussions, multimedia, and hands-on activities, to cater to diverse learning styles.
- Implement differentiated instruction to meet the needs of students with varying academic abilities.
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive English lessons for students in Grade 6 to Grade 9.
Assessment and Feedback:
- Regularly assess student progress through assignments, quizzes, tests, projects, and presentations.
- Provide constructive and timely feedback to students to help them improve academically.
- Prepare and grade report cards, ensuring clear communication of student progress and areas for improvement.
- Conduct parent-teacher meetings, as necessary, to discuss student performance.

Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain a positive, respectful, and focused classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Enforce the school’s policies on behavior management and student conduct.

Curriculum Support:
- Follow the school’s curriculum while adapting lesson plans to the specific needs and abilities of students.
- Provide additional support to students who may require extra assistance, such as one-on-one tutoring or after-school help.

Collaboration:
- Work closely with other members of the English Department and school staff to ensure the successful delivery of the curriculum.
