Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced South Indian Cook for a luxury resort/hotel in Al Ain, UAE. The successful candidate should have strong practical knowledge of authentic South Indian cooking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare authentic South Indian dishes according to required recipes and quality standards.
• Prepare and manage breakfast, lunch, and dinner items as assigned.
• Prepare batters, chutneys, gravies, curries, rice dishes, breads, snacks, and accompaniments.
• Maintain consistency in taste, quality, portion size, and presentation.
• Complete food preparation and mise-en-place before service.
• Ensure ingredients are properly cleaned, prepared, stored, and labelled.
• Monitor ingredient quality and minimise food wastage.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the assigned kitchen and workstations.
• Follow food-safety and kitchen-hygiene procedures.
• Coordinate effectively with chefs and other kitchen team members.
• Support smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods.
• Follow instructions from the Head Chef / Kitchen Supervisor.
• Maintain professional conduct appropriate to a luxury resort/hotel environment.

Requirements

• Practical experience preparing South Indian cuisine.
• Strong knowledge of South Indian ingredients, spices, cooking techniques, and flavour profiles.
• Ability to prepare multiple dishes consistently and independently.
• Knowledge of kitchen hygiene, food safety, and proper food handling.
• Ability to manage food preparation and service within required timelines.
• Ability to work effectively within a professional kitchen team.
• Reliable, punctual, disciplined, and professional.
• Ability to work under pressure during busy service periods.
• Willing to work full-time in Al Ain, UAE.
